Aeroplan cardholders can transfer Chase points with a 10% bonus – The Points Guy
Nothing makes us happier than a points transfer bonus. You magically multiply your points into more than you already had, thus requiring fewer points to book an upcoming trip.
Holders of the Aeroplan Credit Card from Chase can get a 10% bonus when transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to their Aeroplan accounts. This was supposed to be a temporary benefit expiring at the end of 2023, however it has been extended indefinitely, as first reported by Frequent Miler.
This can be a great option for those with both the Aeroplan card and a top Chase card to maximize with the Ultimate Rewards program. Keep reading to learn more.
Offer details
There are some restrictions to this offer that you should know about:
- The minimum transfer is 50,000 Ultimate Rewards to activate the bonus (which would get you 55,000 Aeroplan points)
- The bonus is not cumulative, so you must transfer at least 50,000 points at a time (not 25,000 plus 25,000)
- The maximum bonus per year is 25,000 Aeroplan points. You can max this out by transferring a total of 250,000 Chase points
- Bonus points will post separately — typically within 72 hours — but they could take up to a week to appear in your Aeroplan account

Not all Chase credit cards are eligible for these transfer bonuses, unfortunately. You need to have the Aeroplan Card and one of the following:
The information for the J.P. Morgan Reserve, Ink Plus and Chase Corporate Flex cards has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
TPG values Chase Ultimate Rewards at 2.05 cents apiece and Aeroplan points at 1.5 cents each, meaning you could face a loss in value for your points. However, if you redeem your Aeroplan points for higher value, this bonus can work in your favor.
One way to do so involves economy redemptions that require few points but are priced high, like for summer travel. Premium cabins like business class and first class should also yield high value on your redemptions.

Bottom line
The Aeroplan card is compelling for those with an eligible Chase Ultimate Rewards points-earning card. You can get up to 50,000 bonus Aeroplan points by transferring Chase points (25,000 in 2023 and another 25,000 in 2024) in addition to other perks like elite status, upgrade certificates, free checked bags and World Elite Mastercard benefits.
Just remember that transfers from Chase are final and can’t be reversed. As a result, you’ll want to ensure you can truly use the Aeroplan points before completing the transfer.
