JetBlue’s birthday sale: Earn up to 5,000 bonus points with your JetBlue Card – The Points Guy

Happy 24th birthday to JetBlue Airways.

To celebrate, the New York City-based airline is back with its annual birthday sale, with five days of travel deals.

With Tuesday’s deal, travelers could save up to $650 on JetBlue Vacations packages. On Wednesday, the airline is offering some great TrueBlue points bonuses when you use your JetBlue Card for JetBlue purchases.

Deal basics

Airline: JetBlue
How to book:
Directly with the airline using your JetBlue Card
Book by: Feb. 29

Sample bonuses

Until the end of the month, you can maximize your points haul with JetBlue when you use your JetBlue Card to pay for JetBlue purchases — including airfares and JetBlue Vacations packages.

You could earn as many as 5,000 bonus TrueBlue points if you spend the full amount.

The bonus-earning rates are as follows:

The purchases must be made before Feb. 29, and purchasing TrueBlue points does not count toward the eligible spending amount.

If you make an eligible purchase, you should expect to see the points in your account within six to eight weeks of the promotion ending.

With this in mind, if you were to book through JetBlue Vacations, you could earn the maximum bonus of 5,000 points easily by booking a long weekend in May at the Hideaway at Royalton Punta Cana all-inclusive resort and casino for $1,547.84. This purchase would earn you the 5,000 TrueBlue points bonus in addition to the 2,990 points for the booking itself.

You could also fly one-way to Paris in JetBlue’s famous Mint Suite for $2,141.80 on April 8, earning you the 5,000-point bonus. Likewise, if you were to book round-trip flights in April flying in any of the other classes, you could easily earn the 2,500-point bonus.

If you want to spend even less and still earn the bonus at the lowest threshold, you could fly domestically within the U.S. on a Blue fare, departing April 2 and returning April 7 for $609.20. This would earn you 1,000 bonus points.

Bottom line

JetBlue is releasing some great deals this week that could save you a significant amount of money on flight and vacation bookings. Wednesday’s deal, while not a cash discount, will help bolster your TrueBlue points balance if you already hold a JetBlue credit card.

Check back Thursday because JetBlue is celebrating with special discounts all week long.
