Deal alert: Fly nonstop to Mexico from the US starting at $222 – The Points Guy

Mexico is one of the most popular international destinations for American travelers, and now, you can go south of the border while saving big. Several airlines are running a fare sale on nonstop flights to Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey from departure cities such as Chicago, Dallas, Denver and San Francisco — some tickets are going for as low as $222 round-trip.

This sale could take you to some of Mexico’s most interesting and vibrant metropolitan areas. Mexico City is rich in history, culture and incredible food. Monterrey is an art lovers paradise with its eclectic museums and historic Old Town. Guadalajara is famous for its tequila and mariachi music, as well as its iconic cathedral.

The travel window for this sale from August through December of this year. Availability varies widely by route, but some do include holidays. Please note that some of the lowest prices must be booked through an online travel agency.

This deal is for economy fares. A carry-on bag is included with each airline except United Airlines. Checked luggage will cost between $35 and $70 each way.

Nonstop flights from Chicago to Mexico City are priced as low as $314 round-trip in this sale. Aeromexico has good availability for itineraries from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to Mexico City in November and December at this price.

United has nonstop flights out of Chicago to Monterrey International Airport (MTY) in late summer for just $319 round-trip. Remember, United fares don’t come with a free carry-on; it will cost $40 each way to check a bag.

However, even if you pay for a bag, you’re still saving a really good amount of money on this fare, according to Google Flights.

If you live in Dallas, American Airlines has nonstop flights out of Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to Monterrey from $222 round-trip in August and September. If you want to check a bag, consider upgrading to American’s Main Cabin tier. It will save you almost $30 compared to paying to check a bag.

If you live in Houston, you can snag a nonstop, round-trip itinerary on United Airlines from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) to Monterrey in November for just $233. There is good availability for this route, at this price, throughout the fall.

Want to visit Guadalajara? Aeromexico has nonstop, round-trip flights in late October from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Guadalajara International Airport (GDL) from $300. That’s a really good discount for this route.
